William Luther Pierce
September 11, 1933 - July 23, 2002
Cattle die, and kinsmen die, and so must one die oneself.
But there is one thing I know which never dies, and that is
the fame of a dead man's deeds.
-- Old Norse Proverb
Our Tribute to a Great Man
Come, my friends,
‘Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
It should inspire the best of our people to know that, despite
the current plight under which our people now suffer, there
was an extraordinary man who, during our lifetime, lived and
fought daily for the survival and advancement of our race.
Only a few years ago, we shared the earth with one of the
most talented and dedicated men our race has ever begotten;
and though William Pierce has now passed from his life on
this planet, his influence and legacy live on in his thousands
of admirers and followers across the White world. The members
of the Nationalist Coalition are now proud to be the bearers
of the spirit of this great man.
Throughout the early years of his life, William Pierce saw
few changes in the world around him. From his birth in Atlanta
and throughout his education across the country, Pierce still
lived in a White world, isolating himself from politics. Even
in Houston, where he was an undergraduate at Rice University,
and in southern California, where he was a graduate student
at the California Institute of Technology, the racial situation
had not deteriorated into the demoralizing situation that
one encounters in those cities today. It was not until after
he received his doctorate in physics from the University of
Colorado in 1962 and accepted a faculty position at Oregon
State University that Pierce became wary of the social tumult
caused by the Civil Rights Revolution. As Dr. Pierce paid
closer attention to the world around him and came to understand
the urgency of the problems facing our people, he left his
professorship and accepted a high-paying research position
in Connecticut, a job he hoped would finance his political
activities. After only a year in Connecticut, however, fate
summoned Dr. Pierce to our nation’s political center,
Washington, D.C.
In Washington, Dr. Pierce became associated with many of the
most innovative and talented White leaders of the 1960's,
including Professor Revilo Oliver and George Lincoln Rockwell.
Pierce soon realized, however, that his destiny was not to
follow in the footsteps of either of these men; instead, in
1976 Dr. Pierce founded his own organization, the National
Alliance, and remained its chairman until his death in 2002.
Since that time, the Alliance has evolved into a more progressive,
dedicated, and farsighted organization known as the Nationalist
Coalition. Like Dr. Pierce, we celebrate our people’s
history and culture, its victories and accomplishments. We
understand that a special fate awaits our race, and that it
is our irrevocable duty as White men and women to fulfill
that great destiny. It was the dream of Dr. Pierce, and of
many White idealistic philosophers and thinkers before him,
that our people would awaken from our slumber and ascend to
our rightful throne as masters of this and all other worlds
– and we in the Nationalist Coalition dedicate our lives
to the fulfillment of their ancient dream.
The Nationalist Coalition is proud to bring
you a small sample of Dr. Pierce’s original, eternal lessons.
