This past December, a few members
of the Denver Chapter of the Nationalist Coalition addressed
the sensitive holiday issue of a menorah display in
a local community’s downtown. The city of Fort
Collins, Colorado, hosted a seasonal display in their
Old Town, celebrating the holiday season. “Blasphemy!”
shouted Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik of the Chabad Jewish
Center of Northern Colorado, who thought it was only
fair that he be allowed to display a menorah in Old
Town too. So, he put one up. Local newspapers carried
the story but no action was taken: surprise, surprise.
Members of the Nationalist Coalition took it upon themselves
to address the issue with the notorious means of a flyer
distribution.
Utilizing the flyer “Pssst! Hey You! Test Your
Level of Anti-Semitism,” flyers were distributed
across communities in Fort Collins. To the dismay of
the recipients, the flyer asked them if they agreed
with statements such as “Diversity is our strength,”
“Anti-Semitism is never the result of Jewish behavior,”
as well as, “Rabbi Yerachmiel Gorelik of the Chabad
Jewish Center of Northern Colorado should be allowed
to place a menorah in the public square or anywhere
he wants.”
Rabbi Gorelik was quoted as saying that “this
activity is not healthy for the community.” In
reality, it is unhealthy for White communities to be
obliged to accept Jewish culture in their community
and have to censor their holiday celebrations to not
exclude anyone.
